Formula 1 on Wednesday confirmed that the Italian Grand Prix will be hosted at Monza until 2031.

Monza’s existing contract ran until 2025 but F1 have announced the six-year extension after what it describes as “significant upgrades” being made to the premises ahead of the 2024 race, which was won by Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc.

Dubbed “The Temple of Speed,” Monza has hosted a Grand Prix every year since the inaugural world championship in 1950, except in 1980 when the track was closed for renovations.
