Next season’s FIA Formula 2 Championship will include no less than five members of Ferrari’s prestigious driver academy, two of which will make their debut in the junior series.
Mick Schumacher, Callum Ilott and Giuliano Alesi will be joined on the grid next year by F2 rookies Robert Shwartzman and Marcus Armstrong.
Schumacher will continue with Prema Racing in 2020, while race winner Ilott will enjoy a second season with the British UNI Virtuos Racing team. As for the 20-year-old son of former Scuderia stalwart jean Alesi, Giuliano will be racing with the HWA Racelab outfit.
Russian newcomer Shwartzman will join Schumacher at Prema while fellow debutant and Kiwi Marcus Armstrong will showcase his talent with ART Grand Prix, F2’s most successful team.

“2019 was a good learning year for our three Formula 2 rookies, Callum, Mick and Giuliano,” said Scuderia Ferrari sporting director Laurent Mekies.
“We have seen them progress and we have high hopes for next year. We will have even more interest in this series, given that the existing trio will be joined by Robert and Marcus, off the back of their great year in Formula 3.
“Our priority will be to help them make further progress, both at Maranello and at race tracks around the world, so that our Academy continues to prepare talented youngsters to set their sights on being potential champions of the future with the Scuderia.”
